Why Project Management?

During the pandemic, I struggled with managing my workload and my time. I chose Project Management because I wanted to learn how to manage my projects efficiently and effectively and my time.

I researched programs and enrolled in The Mom Project's RISE Program to earn a Google Project Management Professional Certificate.

During the program, I learned how to:

• Apply the foundations of Project Management and Agile Methodologies

• Create, plan, and execute a successful project

• Use tools and platforms such as Spreadsheets (e.g., Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, etc.) word processing applications (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Word), and presentation applications (e.g., Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)

• Leverage work management platforms such as Asana, Jira, SmartSheet, etc.

• Analyze project documents, project deliverables, requirements, project scope, and goals

• Identify tasks and milestones to create a project plan and other Scrum artifacts

• Build various types of roadmaps such as project roadmap, product roadmap, value roadmap, lean roadmap, and agile roadmap

• Conduct research and apply research findings to inform decision-making

I gained new skills such as strategic thinking, change management, project management, stakeholder management, business writing, project planning, risk management, and procurement.
